National Women’s Day always feels like a moment to pause and reflect. Not just on the big names we read about in history books, but on the everyday women whose strength quietly shapes the world around them.
When I think about women who inspire me, I don’t only think about famous activists or leaders (although they absolutely deserve celebrating). I think about the women in ordinary lives doing extraordinary things — the ones holding families together, supporting friends through hard times, working long hours, caring for others, and still finding moments to pursue their own hopes and dreams.
So many women carry incredible resilience. Often it’s not loud or dramatic; it’s steady, determined, and deeply rooted. It’s the strength to keep going when life feels heavy. It’s the courage to start again when plans change. It’s the quiet confidence that grows from experience, kindness, and empathy.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to appreciate how powerful those quieter strengths really are. The ability to listen. The instinct to nurture. The determination to keep learning and evolving. These are qualities that shape families, communities, and workplaces in ways that often go unnoticed but are deeply important.
For me, National Women’s Day is also about recognising how women support one another. Whether it’s offering advice, sharing opportunities, cheering someone on, or simply being there when someone needs a listening ear — those connections matter more than we sometimes realise.
I also think this day is a reminder that it’s never too late to grow, to try something new, or to take steps towards the life we want to build. Every chapter of life brings its own opportunities. Strength doesn’t come from having everything perfectly figured out; it comes from continuing to move forward with purpose and hope.
Today I’m grateful for the women who have influenced my life — through friendship, guidance, and example. And I’m equally grateful for the chance to keep learning from the women around me every day.
So today, let’s celebrate women in all their forms of strength: the bold voices, the quiet supporters, the creators, the carers, the dreamers, and the women simply doing their best every single day.
Happy National Women’s Day.
Let’s keep lifting each other up..
