Happy New Year

The start of a new year and another try at this blog. It is something I really want to do and have done so for a long time but I just don’t seem able to keep it up. I know others have moved away from blogs but I am never going to make videos so blogging it will be.

Last year was not a good one. It was full of illness and stress and as such nothing was achieved and we didn’t move forward with any plans or ideas. As such let’s hope that 2026 can be a year of change.

Word of the year 2025

Like a lot of others I choose a word each year.

For 2025 my word is;

Also I have chosen a bible verse which is:

Do you choose a word?

Poorly

Since New Years Day, I have been poorly. Spent most of the 2nd in A & E with chest pains and still don’t know what is wrong. It is being looked at as stress which of course maybe exactly right.

I am so tired and no interest in anything..not even reading I must be ill.

I found this on the internet and I have to say many of them are how I feel write now.

I have also looked at burnout as we hear a lot about stress or burnout in social work and I think that this is even more likely.

Now what to do about it. All I am capable of doing now is resting.

Happy New Year

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

Whilst we don’t know what the year has in store for us it is ours for the taking.

Finally found someone to help

It has been months of searching if not years to get someone to cut some of our trees back but then they just knocked on our door.

Whilst I was at work on Thursday they knocked on the door offering to cut the trees back and despite the high risk of being conned we just went for it.

They cut back the oak tree in the front.

They took out some dead conifers also in the front.

They cut the hedges.

And the cherry tree in the centre of the lawn.

They also did the apple tree in the back garden.

All in all it was expensive but the tasks are now done.

It is a sparkly day

Although it remains very cold here today it is so bright and shiny and everything is sparkling.

The only thing is of course now all the dust is on show and it is going to need some serious work in the house.

I have succumbed to a stupid cough so will see what I can get done in between coughing fits.
